Software Developer / SharePoint Administrator Vicenza
GDIT is looking for an experienced SharePoint Systems Administrator to support Knowledge Management projects and customers in Vicenza, Italy. An ideal candidate for this position has extensive experience providing SharePoint systems administration support and coaching users on managing their SharePoint portals. The candidate will also have experience architecting and implementing software solutions for well defined customer requirements. Familiarity with concepts including SharePoint workflows, timer jobs, report generation, and build and test automation is essential.
Must have strong Site Collection administration skills.
The primary target platform is SharePoint 2013, experience with SharePoint 2016 is a plus.
Maintains web applications and websites in support of current operations and during high volume military exercises. Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
Develops, codes, deploys and maintains web applications and websites. Provides application development and technical support for customer websites.
Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations and enhancements of existing systems.
Prepares functional specifications from which programs will be written, then designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs.
Participates in the technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of website enhancements.
Plans, schedules and conducts systems tests, monitors test results, and takes appropriate corrective action.
May prepare technical user guides. Researches and integrates design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities.
Researches emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.
Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
Troubleshoots complex problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced Web Developers, SharePoint Administrators, and users.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
SQL experience required as it relates to SharePoint.
Be able assist with other customer support system administration related duties.
Participates in special projects as required.
A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
An associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;11 years of recent specialized experience.
Qualifications8+ years of directly related Web Developement and SharePoint Administration Experience to include Tier I and II Help Desk support.
1. Offer contingent upon receiving SOFA approval.
2. Must possess a US security clearance at the Secret\SSBI level.
3. Must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
4. Must obtain CompTIA Security+ certification prior to start date.

Functional ResponsibilitiesAbility to provide 8x5 On Site AND 24x7 On Call Support. Administration of multi-user computer systems. Administration of Unix or other open systems-compliant multi-user system. Assists in the daily operations of computer center and network suites. Assists in the operation of client-server software and network operations. Assists management in the operation of computer and network system suites. Maintains and troubleshoots intra-system telecommunications. Maintains close contact with all supported elements of the client’s facility, and related communications links, in order to effectively deal with problems and organizational issues. Monitors each system and adjusts/configures each for maximum system performance. Oversees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity. Performs moderately complex systems administration and monitoring/tuning appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. Performs system related duties and functions at the direction of the ONE-NET Operations. Manager and/or Functional Supervisor. Provides hardware and software troubleshooting for the Local/Wide Area Network. Provides technical services to help resolve enterprise-wide ADP/network issues. Resolves hardware problems. Schedules or performs the repair and/or replacement of defective computer equipment. Serves specified organizational units through the provision of satisfactory computing services.
RequirementsExperience living and working in an OCONUS location. Experience managing, monitoring and maintaining local\wide area networks and systems in a 24x7 environment. Experience supporting US DoD or US Navy customers and organizations. Experience working with geographically dispersed customers and organizations. Flexibility in adapting to and functioning in demanding and fluid environments or situations. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Interpersonal and communications skills to interact with customers and team members. In depth knowledge and experience working with Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and latter versions Skilled in time, priority and task management.
